Leon DiPietro Wilson, Counselor in Training
Leon (they/he) is currently pursuing a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Leon’s work is grounded in an intersectional lens, understanding how race, gender, sexuality, class, culture and systems all shape our mental health. As a transgender masculine person, Leon knows the importance and power of self expression and being seen. Leon’s therapy practice is a space where all parts of an individual are welcomed and affirmed.
Leon practices from a Person-Centered foundation, where he believes clients are the experts on their lives and he is here to walk beside them as a helpful guide along their path. Leon uses Motivational Interviewing to explore change at the client’s pace and incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help build a life that is aligned with a person’s values.
Leon is a performer and entertainer who loves to bring people together. They believe there is power in playfulness! He enjoys gardening and botany, and is getting a greener thumb every season.
