Meet the Team

Nancy (Avila) Rocha, MSW, LICSW

Nancy (she/her) is the Clinical Manager at Canopy MHC. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and is a board approved Clinical Supervisor by the BOSW and BBHT in Minnesota. Nancy has experience working with diverse communities across the lifespan and has provided case management services, in-home therapy services, in-home parenting support, and outpatient mental health services. She has also worked with facilitated domestic abuse support groups and provided supervision for anger management and intimate partner violence therapy groups.

Nancy is trained in Narrative Therapy, NET, and IFS, and completed a Leadership Development Program through Capella University. In her role, she provides oversight and support to the clinical team, with a focus on maintaining Canopy's values and promoting a sustainable, person-centered organizational culture. Her worldview is guided by Mesoamerican principles and teachings which acknowledge the interconnectedness in people, nature, animals, and spirit. She believes people are the experts of their own life and have an innate ability to heal and prosper. She uses a strengths-based and person-centered approach to connect with individuals and community.

During her free time, Nancy enjoys spending time outdoors, walking, paddle boarding, hiking, and bike riding. She is a Mexica dancer with Kalpulli Huitzillin, is a lifelong learner of her Mesoamerican lineage, and has continued to deepen her interest and practice of Curanderismo for the past ten years.
